What Reidys say...
The Baby Taylor is a small guitar with all the features that make full size Taylors so popular.
The Baby has a solid spruce top coupled with a arched sapele laminate back and sides to give you a full rich tone in a small package. The 3/4 size guitar is ideal for traveling and comes with a deluxe gig bag. The baby Taylor is an ideal choice for younger players starting their guitar journey, it offers a guitar with great playability, action, intonation and tone in a small package.
The Baby Taylor has other sides too... we have seen people using them as high strung instruments and open tuned with slide for some real mojo!
Like all Taylor guitars the Big Baby comes with a peerless setup and
plays amazingly well all over the neck. Taylor believe so much in the
quality of their guitars that they offer a 12 year warranty if you
register your guitar!

What Taylor say...
"The ¾-size Baby Taylor firmly established the travel guitar category years ago and today is more popular than ever. At the heart of it all is an authentic guitar sound and inviting playing experience.
Featuring a sapele laminate back and sides and solid top of either spruce or mahogany, you can add a capo, high-string it, tune it down, play it around the campfire, help your kids form their first guitar chords however you use it, it's always fun to have one within reach.
The mahogany-top version will yield a slightly darker, earthier tone than the spruce top."
Taylor's 3/4-size mini-Dreadnought is a well-crafted design that blends musicality and playability. Its small size also makes it a great starter guitar for kids and an ultra-compact songwriting guitar.
As a top wood, mahogany produces a natural compression, so it won't yield as quick a response as spruce will. it will produce strong fundamentals, with clear and direct focus. It has having a woody, dry tone.
Taylor's layered woods incorporate three layers of wood, with a middle core of poplar and veneer on each side. Layered woods allow a blend exotic looks with climate-resilient construction..
A ¾-size Dreadnought that's big on tone.
A ¾-scale Dreadnought, the Baby Taylor is designed to yield a ton of volume for its small size. A layered sapele back is pressed into a slight arch, providing strength and helping produce the Baby's full, rich tone. It's also remarkably versatile for special applications, whether played in alternate tunings or high-strung; with a capo or a slide. And it's the perfect travel companion or starter guitar for young kids.
Used On: The 100 Series, GS Mini, Baby, Big Baby
While the rich tones of solid wood remain unmatched, a layered wood construction can yield great sound in a beautiful, durable and affordable instrument. Such is the case with layered sapele, in which we use interior and exterior veneers of sapele with a core layer of poplar between them. One of the benefits of layered wood for guitars is extra resilience in the face of fluctuating humidity conditions. This comes in handy for guitars like the GS Mini and Baby Taylor models, which are travel-friendly guitars that may be more directly exposed to different environments. All Taylor layered-wood models feature a solid wood top to optimize the tonal response.
