Core-PE Mahogany Open Pore Black Burst

Introduced in 2020, the Core Series guitars enjoyed its fast growing popularity thanks to its focus and dedication on what truly makes acoustic guitars great: keeping it simple yet elegant, with great playability and natural acoustic sound. With the introduction of the Core-PE Mahogany we have forged the same idea and focus of the Core Series onto a historic Parlor body shape, keeping it historically accurate and aesthetically appealing while staying true to the essentials of a great guitar.

The Core Essential

Cort’s new Core Series acoustic guitars are designed with simplicity in mind. Our main goal was to shed away any non-essential flashy features and stay focused on what truly makes acoustic guitars great. The result is an all-solid acoustic guitar, built with Cort’s world-class craftsmanship, that looks simple yet elegant with great playability and natural acoustic sound. The new Core Series is sure to deliver the performance and tone every player has envisioned in a great acoustic guitar.

Parlor Body Shape

Based on the revered vintage parlor body guitars from the 1930’s, the 14th fret neck-body joint with 24.75” (628㎜) neck scale not only imparts a vintage look and feel, but produces a prominent low-end and surprisingly loud volume for a guitar of its compact size which is quickly becoming popular among players of many different genres and playing styles

All Solid Mahogany Model

Developed in accordance with recent acoustic guitar market trends, this model features not only mahogany back and sides but mahogany top as well. Although darker sounding than spruce, mahogany produces a warmer tone with a full rich mid-range.

Fishman® Sonitone

Installed internally without cutting out any of the woods, the Sonitone EQ system retains all the natural resonance and the pure acoustic sound that other systems aren’t capable of. The controls are simple and intuitive to use as well, with just Volume and Tone.

Ovangkol Fretboard with Mahogany Neck

Known as a great overall tone wood, Ovangkol shares similar tone characteristics as Rosewood with a warm and slightly fuller midrange. The combination of Ovangkol fretboard with Mahogany neck produces a warmer mixture of balanced tone with deep sustain that is suitable for an acoustic guitar.

12” Fingerboard Radius

A rounder 12” (305㎜) fingerboard radius is applied for easier and comfortable playability when holding a chord.

Open Pore Finish

Not only does the open pore finish enhance the resonance of the woods but it also reduces the weight of the guitar for improved playability.

Pyramid” Bridge

Made from Ovangkol, this unique ‘pyramid’ bridge resembles symbolic narrow type wooden bridges that were used in the vintage guitars from the 1930s. Also, the warm and full midrange tonal characteristics of ovangkol is great for tone sustain and tone transfer.

Exclusive Deluxe Soft-Side Case

The new Cort Deluxe Soft- Side Case is not only stylish and sleek but combines the best attributes of a hard case with the flexibility of a padded gig-bag for superb protection for the instrument as well as excellent portability.
