Grand Auditorium body shape Includes Taylor gigbag Solid sitka spruce top Layered walnut back and sides 1-11/16" width at nut Forward Shifting Pattern bracing ES-2 pickup system
What Reidys say...
The Taylor 114e features the Grand Auditorium body shape. This is Taylor's quintessential body shape and acts as a sort of swiss army knife in that it does it all; flatpicking, lead lines, fingerpicking, driving rhythm and more. The large lower bout lends more bass and projection, and the narrow waist and shoulders give the guitar great string to string balance and note separation. If you want just one acoustic guitar to take to a gig - this could well be it!
As per the whole 2017 Taylor 100 series, the 114e represents incredible value for money. It's got a solid sitka spruce top; one of the great classic tone woods for acoustic guitars. The layered walnut back and sides provide a nice tonal balance, and deal well with changes in temperature making the Taylor 114e a very road-worthy guitar.
One of the things we love about Taylor guitars is their playability - they play well all over the neck, whatever your playing style. This model comes supplied with a Taylor gigbag, a 12 year warranty (upon registering the guitar online) and Taylor's unique ES2 pickup system. This is one of the best acoustic guitar pickups on the market and, unlike most piezo-style pickups, really helps capture the acoustic tone of your guitar. Why not try one out in our Premier Taylor showroom?

What Taylor say....
The Taylor 114e is an acoustic/electric Grand Auditorium that blends layered walnut back and sides with a solid Sitka spruce top, making it a great all-around acoustic that responds well to strumming, flatpicking and fingerpicking.
With Taylor's patented Taylor neck, you'll enjoy easy playability and accurate intonation as long as you own the guitar, and the slightly narrower 1-11/16-inch nut width makes forming barre chords easier on the hands. The dynamic Expression System 2 pickup produces a natural amplified acoustic voice that will help you sound your best whenever you plug in. The clean appointment scheme includes Italian acrylic dot fretboard inlays, a 3-ring rosette, plus black binding and a black pickguard that complement the look of the genuine ebony fretboard and bridge. The guitar includes a lightweight protective gig bag for easy portability.
Shape: Grand Auditorium
The most versatile and popular of Taylor's guitar shapes. Its well-defined midrange gives clear and balanced
tone. Responsive for fingerstyle and powerful for pickers and strummers to get a lively response. Think of it as a
jack of all trades.
Top: Sitka Spruce
The most commonly used wood for guitar tops, Sitka generates a broad dynamic range and accommodates numerous
playing styles, from aggressive strumming to fingerpicking.
Body: Layered Walnut
Taylor's layered woods incorporate three layers of wood, with a middle core of poplar and veneer on each side. Layered woods allow a blend exotic looks with climate-resilient construction.
Expression System 2
The Taylor ES2 pickup captures the acoustic and dynamic properties of the guitar when amplified. Pickup sensors are placed behind the saddle of the guitar instead of underneath it which allows them to respond more naturally to the guitar's energy, giving you an amplified sound that's closer to the acoustic tone of your guitar.
