What Reidys say...

"The 324ce is a great all rounder guitar. Being Taylor's Grand Auditorium body shape it offers a huge dynamic range in a comfortable body shape. If like to play finger style guitar and also play with a pick, this is the first place that you should look for your new guitar. The Grand Auditorium allows you to do both very well, giving clarity of tone and makes soft and hard attack dynamics come through when played with your fingers, but also gives you the headroom to really dig in to the guitar when you are playing with a pick.

The choice of woods in this guitar also gives a really nice tone;  By having a mahogany top, the Taylor 324ce reduces the 300 series' bright attack and gives a more rootsy tone, which is great for people interested in a more mellow tone (such as blues players).

The 324ce comes fitted with Taylor's Expression System 2, created by Taylor's electronics genius; David Hosler. Taylor discovered that how piezo systems have been designed for decades have been inhibiting the tone of an amplified acoustic guitar, producing a 'quacky' tone, and by shifting where the Piezo crystals are applied to the bridge, they were able to create a piezo pickup system that accurately reproduces the tone of the instrument itself, through an amplifier.

Like all Taylor guitars the 324ce comes with a peerless setup and plays
amazingly well all over the neck. Taylor believe so much in the quality
of their guitars that they offer a 12 year warranty if you register your
guitar! Why not try one out in our Premier Taylor showroom"?

What Taylor say...

This darkly alluring cutaway Grand Auditorium boasts unique visual appeal thanks to its mahogany top, and there’s sonic magic under the hood as well. Our groundbreaking V-Class bracing enhances the volume, sustain and projection, bringing out even more of the natural midrange focus of its Tasmanian blackwood back and sides. While the natural compression of the hardwood mahogany top tends to even out the response across the tonal spectrum, the V-Class design boosts the dynamic range, especially in the upper register, and the in-tuneness of the notes everywhere along the fretboard is wonderfully consistent.

All of these nuances add up to a versatile choice for gigging, practicing or recording across multiple playing styles. The dusky hues of the mahogany top project a rootsy vibe, accented by a shaded edgeburst, black binding, a matching pickguard, and muted satin-finish sheen. The guitar ships with ES2 electronics in a deluxe hardshell case.

Shape: Grand Auditorium

The most versatile and popular of Taylor's guitar shapes. Its well-defined midrange gives clear and balanced

tone. Responsive for fingerstyle and powerful for pickers and strummers to get a lively response. Think of it as a

jack of all trades.

Top: Tropical Mahogany

As a top wood, mahogany produces a natural compression, so it won't yield as quick a response as spruce will. it

will produce strong fundamentals, with clear and direct focus. It has having a woody, dry tone.

Body: Sapele

Sapele's tonal output is consistent and balanced across the tonal spectrum, making it compatible with a diverse

range of playing styles. Comparable to mahogany but its higher density produces a slightly brighter sound with more

top-end shimmer.

Expression System 2

Taylor's breakthrough acoustic pickup marks a major advance in piezo technology thanks to a behind-the-saddle

design. The placement of three piezo sensors captures a more dynamic range of acoustic sound and responds well in a

variety of settings.
