What Reidys say...
"Mexico: spicy food, hot weather, wonderful tequila. Another thing they do very well in Mexico is building a very high quality line of Fender guitars at stunningly reasonable prices. This is the new Player series, which has replaced the old Mexican Standard. Fender have made subtle improvements to the pickups and hardware, as well as adding a load of new finishes. Don't worry if you are a traditionalist though, the old favourites like Black and Sunburst are still there. Onto the pickups, the updated designs offer everything that has made Fender the go-to for everything from chimey, bright clean tones to percussive, tight overdrives. These guitars are built to offer versatility, easy playability and fantastic quality and they deliver on everything and more. Come in and try one today!
Jaguars are fearsome creatures. Not the big cats... well those too, but I'm talking about this range of Player Series Jags from Fender. As with this entire series, this is a no-nonsense take on one of the classic Fender designs. With a chimey single coil in the neck and an articulate humbucker in the bridge which can be coil split with the slider switch, this one certainly delivers on versatility. But, I hear you ask "how does this feel to play, Alex?" The answer is: absolutely amazing. The Jaguar has a 24" scale length, much shorter than a Jazzmaster or Strat, which results in a slinkier feel... They feel so easy to play!"

Sleek and stylish with a voice that’s a modern
twist on our classic sound, the Player Jaguar has a uniquely slinky playing feel. It encourages you to play differently, to reach for new chords and melodic twists and to explore new sounds and tonalities. Decked out with spotlight-ready chrome accents, it has the authentic sound, features and feel that’s inspired countless artists to write new songs and create new genres of music.
Respecting our heritage while maintaining our innovative spirit, the Player Series humbucking bridge pickup sounds huge and warm, while the single-coil neck pickup is crisp and articulate—it’s authentic Fender tone with a modern edge. For even more tone-shaping we included a slide switch to split the coils of the bridge pickup, unlocking authentic Fender single-coil sound. The “Modern C”-shaped maple neck’s comfortable contours and smooth finish are ideal for almost any playing style. By adding a 22nd medium jumbo fret to the contemporary 9.5”-radius fingerboard we’ve made it easier to express yourself musically. The six-saddle, vintage-style adjustable bridge sports a floating tremolo tailpiece, perfect for adding an extra bit of personal expression to your sound.
Other features include master volume and tone controls, a 5-way pickup switch, 3-ply pickguard, synthetic bone nut, dual-wing string tree, sealed tuning machines and four-bolt “F”-stamped neck plate that marks this instrument as the real deal—as Fender as it gets.
When you need a guitar that will inspire you to play more and create something new, reach for the Player Jaguar.
