What Reidys say...
"Mexico: spicy food, hot weather, wonderful tequila. Another thing they do very well in Mexico is building a very high quality line of Fender guitars at stunningly reasonable prices. This is the new Player series, which has replaced the old Mexican Standard. Fender have made subtle improvements to the pickups and hardware, as well as adding a load of new finishes such as Sonic Red and Buttercream. Don't worry if you are a traditionalist though, the old favourites like Black and Sunburst are still there. Onto the pickups, the updated designs offer everything that has made Fender the go-to for everything from chimey, bright clean tones to percussive, tight overdrives. These guitars are built to offer versatility, easy playability and fantastic quality and they deliver on everything and more. Come in and try one today!
Maple fretboard on a Stratocaster. This is one of the reassuring consistencies of life. For as long as there's been a Strat, it's had a maple fretboard. Maple is Clapton's favourite fretboard material for its smooth feel when compared to the pourous rosewood or pau ferro boards, which feel a little rougher - he should know.... he is god after all. Anyway, this model has all the great features of the Player series: the redesigned pickups, the super smooth satin finish neck and the high quality hardware. For features and quality of this calibre, this is an incredible bargain."

The “Modern C”-shaped maple neck’s comfortable contours and smooth finish are ideal for almost any playing style. By adding a 22nd medium jumbo fret to the contemporary 9.5”-radius fingerboard we’ve made it easier to express yourself musically. The updated 2-point tremolo design has smoother travel for enhanced playing feel while simultaneously giving you rock-solid tuning stability since there’s less friction against the posts.
