What Reidys say...
"Everything in Gibson’s Original Collection is based on a guitar from their 'Golden Era' - the 50s and 60s. Gibson have listened to the players calling for the classics, now here they are! On these, you’ll see period-correct specs, from the pickups to the neck profiles. If you want a Gibson that looks, sounds and feels like how they did in their Golden Era, but don’t quite want to spend Custom Shop money, then the Original Collection is the way to go.
Looking just as radical as it did in 1958, the Gibson Explorer has been the guitar of choice for the likes of The Edge, Lzzy Hale and James Hetfield, amongst a whole host of other guitarists from a variety of genres. This one is fitted with Burstucker 2 and 3 pickups - these are fairly high output but they will still give you that classic Gibson flavour. I love the Antique Natural finish on this as you can see the mahogany body; it’s got a bit of a '58 Korina vibe about it, which can only be a good thing! Quality, as you would expect, is second to none - this thing has been built to last. It’s reliable, it’ll perform night after night and it will definitely make you stand out! The Explorer comes shipped in a fitted Gibson hard case."
Richard Blenkinsop, Guitar Expert
Introduced along-side the Gibson Flying V in 1958, the Gibson Explorer traveled where no man had gone before and past every guitar design that came before it. Over 60 years later the Gibson Explorer is utilized by artists of all genres making it one of the true classics of the guitar world. The Antique Natural finish, all mahogany set-neck construction, rosewood fingerboard and slim taper neck provide incredible classic looks, sound and playability. A special set of calibrated Burstbucker 2 (neck) and Burstbucker 3 (bridge) pickups provide that perfect mix of volume, tone and power.
