What Reidys say...
"Much like models of the past, this is a modern take on the fabled late 50s Bursts. In a nutshell, it's all as you'd expect - a solid mahogany body with plain maple top and a mahogany '50s-style Rounded profile neck with rosewood fingerboard and trapezoid inlays. Pickups are Burstbucker 1 & 2 with Alnico II magnets, which will output a warm, vintage PAF tone. These are running through a handwired control assembly, Vintage Audio Taper 500k Pots and Orange Drop capacitors. Again, the hardware is all as expected for a '50s model - ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, Vintage Deluxe tuners w/Keystone Buttons, amber Top Hat knobs and amber switch cap. Available in Heritage Cherry Sunburst, Tobacco Burst and Gold.
Spec-wise it's not far off the last few years' Traditionals - it's everything you want in an old-school Les Paul, and nothing you don't. If you're hankering after some of the more modern tech that we've seen on the more recent Standards (coil-taps, slimmer neck etc), then fear not - the new Les Paul Modern has you covered."
Richard Blenkinsop, Guitar Expert
The new Les Paul Standard returns to the classic design that made it relevant,
played and loved -- shaping sound across generations and genres of music. It pays
tribute to Gibson's Golden Era of innovation and brings authenticity back to life. The
Les Paul Standard 50's has a solid mahogany body with a maple top, a rounded 50'sstyle
mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard and trapezoid inlays. It's
equipped with an ABR-1, the classic-style Tune-O-Matic bridge, aluminum stop bar
tailpiece, vintage deluxe tuners with keystone buttons, and amber top hat knobs. The
calibrated Burstbucker 1 (neck) and Burstbucker 2 (bridge) pickups are loaded with
AlNiCo II magnets, audio taper potentiometers and orange drop capacitors.
