Vintage V100 Icon Series Guitar
They say: ...a cracking guitar:.. one that could have its price tag doubled
and still be good value for money.
Trev's V100 Lemon Drop is a real tribute ;
"When I was young and in a band, we supported the original Fleetwood Mac to play at a gig we'd organised.... He wouldn’t let me use his guitar but he was always my favourite guitarist....”
It’s true to say that the best guitars are built from the inside out, and Vintage enjoys a well-earned reputation for building great guitars.
And now, the superb line-up of exciting Vintage electric guitars just got even better.
Working with acknowledged guitar industry guru Trevor Wilkinson, Vintage has now introduced a fantastic new
line-up of Wilkinson-equipped Vintage electrics and semi-acoustics. Using Trev's excellent range of pickups, tuners and hardware has taken Vintage electrics to the next level.
Vintage guitars – great looking, great sounding, great to play – and all at unbelievably competitive prices.
Nothing gives off that unique, so-cool vibe like a guitar that’s obviously seen some serious use. Like a battle-scarred warrior that always gives its best, the instrument’s character shines through the worn finish, saying ‘this guitar has paid its dues’. Its sound has the heart and soul of a thousand gigs in it and you can feel it when you play it. It feels special to hold, and special to play.
But how many people can afford the vintage instrument of their dreams? That special instrument which displays a unique level of wear from decades of playing – at home, numerous rehearsal sessions, smokey pubs to working mens’ clubs, gigs and tours at home and abroad? Or how many guitarists can wait 20 years before their own guitar starts to show that kind of time-related character? Now you don’t have to wait! You don’t even have to re-mortgage the house to make the payment. Renowned guitar specialists Vintage, in conjunction with acknowledged guitar guru, Trevor Wilkinson, have a new specially-aged electric guitar range that ticks all the boxes – the Vintage ICON™ Series!
These fantastic guitars, fully equipped with equally aged Wilkinson tuners, hardware and pickups look like they’ve been played for decades with all the marks, wear and tear to prove it. They’ve been through the mill but they’re cool and ready for the next gig.
Please note: This guitar has a distressed finish - the finish and hardware may have a distressed or scuffed effect applied.
What we think:
This guitar offers players an affordable upgrade from the regular V100, with
improved pickups and hardware.
While the Lemon Drop is suitable for any style of playing, the pickups and
wiring makes it perfectly capable of achieving tones often heard in classic
rock and blues. When the pickup selector is in the middle position, it puts
the pickups 'out of phase', resulting in a warm, rich tone, perfect for the
blues/rock hybrid that this style of guitar is so often associated with.
Features such as the chrome Wilkinson Deluxe tuners also help you to keep in
tune when it matters most.
The worn look of the guitar suggests character and attitude and will be
unique to each guitar.
