Ibanez are a Japanese brand offering a wide range of guitars and basses, from entry-level all the way up to professional-grade. Whilst Ibanez are largely known for their metal and ‘shredder’ style guitars, they also make great archtop guitars, ideal for jazz and blues, fantastic basses, really good acoustics, and some really nice contemporary-style single-coil fitted guitars. With players such as Paul Gilbert, Joe Satriani and Steve Vai all championing the brand, it’s easy to see why Ibanez have become associated with the shred side of things, and they do that really well. However, it only tells part of the story - their guitars are incredibly versatile.
Ibanez’s range of starter guitars is great - whether you want an acoustic, an electric or a bass, you can pick up an Ibanez that’s going to last you, without spending a fortune. Their GSA electrics offer really good value for money and give players something a little different; the same can be said for their Talman acoustics and GSR basses. If you’re after a high-quality electric guitar, that’s perhaps a little different, then check out the amazing AZ series.
